This home was purchased by our clients in 2008. At the time, they had younger kids and busy work lives and just wanted a place to enjoy for a while until they were ready to make it their own. Ten years later, with kids grown and slowing down on the horizon, they decided they were ready. We already had worked with them on their main home on Philadelphia's Main Line so we had a good sense of what they liked and wanted. On the main living floor we began by transforming a formerly indoor space into a larger covered porch abutting the pool, and we enclosed a long shallow outdoor porch and turned it into a large dining and hangout area. A kitchen overhaul, reworking of a central fireplace, and updated guest and kids' bedrooms were also part of the first floor renovations. Upstairs we upgraded a guest suite, added a large home office complete with a wood paneled vaulted ceiling and small deck, and gutted and updated the primary bathroom.
